Id imagine it would have something to do with your Import and Export quality settings. I don't use Vegas, but Id imagine there would somewhere be a setting to alter the quality of the Export/Saved video when its finished.

youtube is also pretty bad in lowering quality of what you upload. Is the rendered clip the same quality as what it is on youtube?

What are your settings that you render it as. I havent used vegas in a bit but can ask my brother who uses it a lot.

All he does is use fraps and vegas with couple other programs, I assume thats all you use also?

An example of what he gets quality wise, considering it is only fraps.

Yes but there is still your file/video format and the quality of the format as well, 1024x768 is only the resolution

Just increase your bitrate up a bit.
