crossover to g27 from g25...

Anyone know if swapping from a g25 to a g27 is difficult or straight forward....as in, do they feel the same or totally different?
I am pretty sure all my settings are default ones.
I really want to get my nephew involved so thought if i "give" ($100) him my g25 and buy a g27 he can start practicing...
But i am a bit concerned with the changeover....especially mid series...
