When is it failing?

If it's at the start, your DVD driver may not be able to read the DVD-R format or the disc has already been used.

If it's part way through, you may have exceeded the space that the disc can hold.

Oh a Samstung..oh dear....

If its new send it back as a Toaster mate and get a Asus or Liteon, both are pretty much bulletproof.. oh that and don't bother with DVD-R, they is rubbish..

+R way to go, easier to change to DVD-ROM for making your own movies ;)

Hmm, I'd also question Snake what brand of dvd disks are you using ? As you've said, the dvd drive reads ok. And well I have a Samsung in one of my pc's and they work just fine . . .

Samsung as a brand is good, even though I do prefer Asus myself.

We have had many customers with DVD Failures with DVD-R Disks.
All failures went away when they started using DVD+R's, especially when burning Video!!!!

And try burning it at 1x, see if that solves it (will tell you if it's a data transfer speed issue).

You would generally get a "Buffer underrun" error if that was the problem, but who knows with Nero these days.

It could well be Nero wogers, you should try some other burning software to see if it does the same.
I've had issues with Nero before and sometimes I'd burn a cd and it'd say burn process failed but the cd worked fine :)
