Graphics question

I am installing a 7900GT graphics card and it has asked for two power supplies to be plugged into the card. The PSU I'm using has an additional power cable that has the same plug end as the 2 into 1
Can I use the single instead of two into one?

PS: If I compare the two identicle plug ends the single cable has 6 wires to it yet the 2 into 1 only has five.

yes, just use the 6 pin cable from the psu, its what its there for

The 2 into 1 is just incase you have an old psu.

Many power supplies have 2 separate 12 volt rails.
These rails (depending on the wattage of the psu) can vary from 13-24 amps.
If you have a Videocard that requires 30amps, you would use the lower connector to draw current from both rails.
In the case of the 7900GT it has fairly low power consumption, so as Bold suggested the top one will do

For those people that have a single rail PSU, the Y connector is a waste of time.

Power supplies are labeled what there outputs are, and will have printed what there 12volt rail outputs are
