Get an adapter with one end the monitor or SVideo plug with AV on the other end.

I had same problems and ended up just leaving the monitor unplugged altogether

What type of card is it.
Nvidia is just a case of going to control panel and choosing to 'clone' monitor to the TV.

Yes, you've got two choices.

* "clone" which makes the same output onto both monitors
* "extend my desktop to this display" will put pictures onto both displays.

If you're running a normal CRT tv set, 800x600 is the only res that really works. Even then, it shimmers and shines and makes doing stuff 99% useless.

But, if you're running media player / media centre then you can run with the extend my desktop, drag the media player so it appears on the tv set and leave the pc monitor for pc stuff. I've got this setup for my media centre and it works 100% a treat.

Also if you're plugging new things into a video card, remember to reboot the pc so the computer can find the additional sources plugged into the card _b

Not sure I can help with tech but my 2c worth are if you can get a large TV, go for it. I run a 40" Sony Bravia X LCD and it's awesome, you can get bigger but that might be TOO big. I just asked the guys at Harvey Norman to give me cables that would work. :D

Playig formula 1 on PS3 at work is a coommon accorance when iits quiet, we have hooked up to a Sony 60" SXRD, its great lol, especially when you have a good movie on the 70" next to it so when someone else is racing you can just watch that.
