Connection Help

Post by The Game » Fri Sep 28, 2007 7:35 pm

Hello

I have a ADSL modem router set up at the moment with a 5-port connected up to it. I have 3 computers running of this and there is one port left. I am at a loss as to how to set up my laptop to use this connection. Any help would be appreciated.

It's not an 'uplink' port is it the remaining port you're talking about?
have you tried talking out one of the other computers and plugging your laptop into that one?

I have one of these

The laptop is connected into the fourth slot and I have noted the green light is not flashing for that one. The Microsoft site said that the laptop should automatically detect the connection so I should not have to set anything up?

Will try out the other slots now _b

An unused network port often disables itself. Go to your network connections, right click on the "local area connection". If it says "Enable" then it is probably disabled and clicking on "Enable " will activate it then it should work automatically.
