New Zealand ADSL

Post by Inspector » Fri Jul 29, 2005 10:10 am

My wifes sister and husband live in Australia and have just got a new ISP. They have chosen the Super plan. 24mbit/1mbit - 40 GIG a month. $60

FFS - Someone give Telescum a jolt and send them into the real world.....

You will notice that that is ADSL2+

Telecom is intending on rolling this out soon. You can purchase ADSL2 compatable routers/modems now off the shelves in NZ. They are also backwards compatable with the currnet ADSL.

Even if we do get ADSL2 soon and bearing mind that what we have now is good for up to 8Mb (with a good connection & modest distance), what chances are there that Telecom will give us that speed?!

Not all that great IMNSHO.

Of course what we really want is more up...
