You do stuff for each class to get things... like fly a chopper and get a few kills, get shot at and survive, cap a flag point.. and generally get plenty of seat time... then you'll get the 'Basic Helicopter Combat Pilot' medal.
Same for each class type, just do what that class is designed for for long enough and you get medals.. which i think dont actually gain you anything.
Your ranking however will make a difference. Highest ranked player on each team gets precedence on 'commander' position. Also each time you go up 1 rank, you may choose one kit to unlock.

Well I had a mixed night of BF2, a movie and some HL2. Which is actually quite good when you've got a few frames
Stats are at least 6 hours to update for me.
Now is time for a break and a brief wake up shower then back to BF. I really don't like that map with the damn under construction and all the server get to it at the same time
The 64 player server needs to fall over less too.
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Well i've been promoted, but it appears to not have unlocked anything at all or asked me which kit I want to unlock. Maybe i'm missing some medals etc.. maybe
Its frustrating not knowing what is required to unlock the weapons for certain kits... someone needs to write a ranking/unlock map.

Done a bit or surfing, and the consensus seems to be that you need to attain 1000 points (Lance Corporal) to get your first weapon unlock. Then the next is 3000 points :O

I take it that Lance Corporal isn't the fist rank (edit - I see 'private first class' is), if rank is based purely on global score then I would guess first rank is 500 points. I have 168 which is about 33% of 500, my progress bar is around 33% fill...

Anyone keen on making a suicide squad?
I had thought about this in the demo, but forgot to tell anyone or try it myself.
Get 3 guys ina squad all as spec op. either use 1 jeep, and load all three on it, or get a jeep each.
Load the jeep with all your C4 and head for the enemy.. jump out at approiate time, and hit the big red button as the jeep drives into the enemy base/front lines

k . . . so where do you guys play now ?
I only had one session with some of you on your "demo" server . . . but everytime I go have a look, there's never anyone on it.
Obviusly those of you who have the full version are playing on full version servers now . . . . can still use the demo server to train/teach us noobs sometime ?
Or has Inspire provided you with a full version server too ?

InSPire Net has a server for both Full and Demo, however we are currently playing on 'ranked' servers to gain stat scores to unlock weapons.

Rolling into a hot spot with no support? i'd call that suicide, and i'd prolly blow it up just as i get out, before they shoot me.

Haven't been on forums all weekend but I picked up my copy on thursday.
I usually play Spec Ops / Medic and switch to Engineer if i'm the commander (to repair your own radar/artillery etc) if it gets hosed.
I'll be on most nights along with Draco and I believe Wraith is coming too.

Had my first go at being commander last night and was good fun apart from when idiots walk into an artillary barrage, get themselves killed and then punish you for there stupidity
Also found i had to be an engineer as nobody else was willing to fix the UAV, artillary. Some people are hard to please as we won the first two rounds lost the third and some bugger started a mutiny vote against me lucky for me it was unsuccessful and lucky for him i didnt know who started it

You have to bend over and grease up 'certain areas' to get the "ranked" binarys from EA
