been playing a bit of this today, managed to get in on an early download slot before the sites got raped

, one of the first games thats had huge amounts of hype...and lived up to it

small hint, if you want to play round with the jets etc, make sure you select a 32 player server or the carrier/airfeild are not included in the map

only down side for me so far...no 1280x1024 for LCD's

but thats a small price to pay for such a cool game otherwise

Here's the solution for 1280x1024

Start BF2 with a shortcut with the following switch:

"[driveletter]:Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

just tried it and my screens working in 1280x1024 while playing

Yet another Tweak :

Get rid of those annoying start up videos, legal conceners and general bs which you cannot escape past.

Open the folder c:\programfiles\eagames\battlefield2demo\mods\bf2

Open the file init.con with wordpad and set all the values to 0 and save, allows you to escape past.

Servers thinks its a hack and say that content has changed and won't let you join..

DON'T USE FOR MULTIPLAYER

I can't get into any multiplayer games.

I can't get past the CREATE ACCOUNT screen . . it says that it uses your GAMESPY ID . . . I can get into Gamespy (but can't see any servers) . . . and when I try and use either my Gamespy ID or create a new account (tried 3 different email addresses), it keeps saying that the name and/or email address is already being used ? . . . and yes . . . I've been trying all kinds of weird account names . . . but still no joy.

I tried going through GameArena (Aust Telstra), and they have about a dozen servers . . . but when I click to join one, the game gets to the account screen, and then it's the same problem.

Any help . . . . please ?

You have top create the account within the game. Not in gamespy.
If you are trying ingame then just try different names. It will accept multiple names with the same email address i think.

I think the in-game username is case sensitive when it matches with the Gamespy ID. So if you haven't tried that, just make sure they're the same.

well . . .from what I can gather, you can only have one account name per email address ?

I tried to use all 3 of my regular email accounts, and couldn't get any of them to work.

So . . . I'm now "sam_carter_au" . . . as in Samantha Carter of SG1. :-)
