BF2 CLAN ANNOUNCEMENT

Post by Mattly » Thu Jun 16, 2005 11:49 am

[SCu]

It's the new clan tag! I don't know if we can modify our names in game, but when you buy the game and register this should be infront of your handle. i.e

[SCu] Mattly

Hope we can make it on tonite for some practice. Next step is to decide what makes a perfect squad? i.e 2 meds, 1 support, 1 tank killer and 1 assault? What say you all?

A squad leader that wont live in a 2 person vehicle, so the rest of the squad cant spawn to the squad and get stuck on the wrong side of the map. ;)

med and squad leader need to take a back seat role, they are important to the team, they shouldnt be first through the door so to speak.

whats the size of a squad ??

the anti tank should have a buddy, they are venerable when they are using the lanucher, have been knifed a couple of times while waiting for the launcher to rerload, and lost focus on the surroundings.

we also need to set a stratergy based on the size of the squad, no point trying to cap to flags and defend with 5 guys.

Choice. What's the 'u' stand for?

Sim Central Unwashed?

Anyone have any idea as to whether we'll have to re-sign up for player accounts with the full game or if we can carry on with our demo accounts?

:)

i am guessing seen as the stats system isnt going during the demo, that your account stays the same for the full game, being it would prolly be the same account server.

Very good points Ron. The maximum size of a squad is 6 people, so we need to design around that and set priority order of unit components to be the most effective in an undersized squad.

i.e
Squad Leader = Medic
2nd = Anti Tank
3rd = Assualt or Special Forces or Heavy
4th = Medic
5th = Anti Tank
6th = Supply

Suggestion only, or re-order?

Nice plan mattly - But do we need supply when the squad leader can call for supplies and the general can send them to the location that the sqaud leader requested. hmmmm i guess thats why he is last :)

Also. I think [SCu] is a good name... But then I would have to say that :)

I think the team requirments will depend very much on the map. But what you have is a good even approch I reckon.

What about a commander !!
Without one you can't get supplies, Scans, Artillery (My Fav), UAV.
Also strategies..
like mine and snakes favourite, take you the artillery/radar, they are blind without it :)

Assault class is over rated, and agree with Special Forces as a team member he lay C4 at a flag and wait for the enemy (another Favourite trick)

I find that if you lay claymores (Sniper), your idiot Team mates tend to set them off and you get a TK, then the idiot Punishes you for his stupidity.
I used to lay claymores, but keep get too many tks

Havocs two sense :P

Really you want the least skilled player to be commander :) because a commander is required to stop playing and attend to the overview alot of the time.

so how about:

Commander Wogers :>~

um . .sorry ? . . ."squads" ? "supply" ? "commander" ?

I just jump on and run about . . . maybe you guys will need to SKOOL me in the ins and outs of "creative play" ?

Just a query . . . how on earth can you control the aircraft ? . . . my chopper keeps on tipping over sideways.

I was thinking of trying them out with a joystick and throttle to see if it makes it any easier . . . tho I did have a go as the gunner on the chopper . . . . THAT is fun . . . . sitting over the ocean and nailing guys before they could enter their aircraft on the carrier.

Also . . . how does the Anti-aircraft weapon "tracking" work at both the airport and the carrier ?

Would be great to have some LESSONS online with voice com sometime . . . hopefully we can all become good at lots of stuff.

I've never really had a go at online shooters before . . . just a few goes at CS and never lasted more than a few minutes (sometimes seconds) before my head got "Blown clear off". :D

Good to hear you are giving this a go Rob. ;)

After years of online multiplay i can say that nothing beats holding a base with mates against the odds. I love Nascar etc, but teamwork achieveing
victory is very very satisfiying. _b

Hopefully you will join us on Ventrilo soon and see what it's all about ;p

Just jump onto the ventrilo Server (BF Channel) we generally are pretty talkative.. plus jump on the Inspire Server.. Its pretty quiet, but you can try things on there without the worries of abuse :)

I'd like to add my name to the [SCu] clan, as
[SCu]Promtheus

I'm starting over again as a new player, which doesn't mean much as I hadn't really spent a lot of time playing it before under my old name.

Favourite weapon - sniper _b, with my usual goal of trying not to get killed each round, or have the lowest number of deaths. I've never been a player to run head first into machine gun fire.
