Battlefield 2 Mini-Guide

Post by Skelo » Tue Jul 05, 2005 7:54 pm

Hey guys, I got a little bored at work and decided that i'd give this a shot.

I have created a "Mini-Guide" for Battlefield 2

This guide contains some general info for newer players and a couple of tricks for vets.

It is by no means complete but if support is good I will most likely create an Official [SCu] Battlefield 2 Guide and Tactical Handbook.

Let me know what you all think in this post...

PLEASE don't tell me about things to add at this time. It is about 1/5 done and just to guage support. If I go ahead then I will get everyones little tricks at that time. Will also go into greater depth, include links etc and much more detailed explainnations etc etc... hopefully with some help of the big players? Eagle?? :P

Cheers.

Bah, I must have missed one. Word keeps auto-correcting [SCu] as it doesn't like 2 capital letters followed by a lowercase one.

I think the Account creation thing has it correct.

I guess I'll start gathering some resources for a proper one.

yes chop chop jetho, isn't it meant to be cranking this week.

Also skelo you might want to add this link (or copy the info in it):

http://www.totalbf2.com/game/console/

It's a list of useful console commands, note that you can change your player NICK for your account after you create the account so it is not vital that you create your online account with your clan tag in front.

you do however have to disconnect and reconnect (or maybe even logout then in again) for your player nick to update

I think you must be mistaken Bazzil.

All the documentation says that there is no way to change your name apart from making a new account.

I tried the variables listed in that guide you linked and none of them worked either...

If this is the case can you please make a post as everyone that plays at the moment is under the impression that people can't change their names.

It is causing issues and if it is possible will fix A LOT of problems.

Cheers.

Yea, I will start gathering pictures and resources and get the thing underway I guess.

I have a fair bit of info guys but the more the merier, it will just take me a bit to sift through it all.

Will keep you all posted on progress.

I will ask inspector to make this sticky or something so you can all post links and info that I can add to the guide.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone.

Bazz, any update on that nick info???

I havn't tried it with an online account, just with an offline account but one would assume it'd work the same way, I'll have a crack and see what's what ;)

Skelo, I have a pdf file from IGNInsider if you want that.

It is exactly the same info that is written on the site, but makes it easy for printing off. Just let me know.

Anything is a help. I basically aim to gather all the relevant info I can add a few pictures so it's not boring and then make a tricks type section with ideas everyone has seen and heard of.

After the guide is complete I will start to work an making a "tactics" style guide for any future clan matches for each map.

So everything you have will no doubt be of use in some way.

Inspector has made this thread stick so you can all post here or send info directly to me at
