EDIT: InSPire Mirror
I've been told via the BF2 server admin mailing list, that the readme is the same as v1.01, just that they removed the memory leak.
Getting server files aswell, but may take a little longer. Also until its officially announced on EA's site, I suggest you dont update, as you might not get onto the ranked servers (expect they'll update monday)
Using ASE and checking the server info, their version should be 1.1.2484.0, that is v1.02
InSPire Net BF2 Retail server is now version 1.1.2484.0 (v1.02)
First in NZ do update according to ASE... damn all those other slackers

Mickey Mouse does not describe what I had to do to get this patch to install. Apparently it doesn't like it if BF2 isn't in the default directory. I followed the below instructions and it looks to have worked...Skuzzlebutt wrote:It's all a bit mickey mouse innit?
Brimstone wrote:Here are some better instructions for people getting the "Patching Failed" error. BTW this is usually because Battlefield 2 was not installed in the default directory.
Execute the Battlefield 2 Patcher "bf2patch_v_102.exe", Choose language, Click Next, wait for Welcome screen, DON'T CLICK NEXT again.
Open Windows Explorer.
Find the folder which contains Patch.exe. It will be in "C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Temp"
If you can't see the "Local Settings" folder you will need to enable hidden files and folders.
Click on Start Run
Drag the icon for Patch.exe to the Run box.
The Run box should now contain something like this
"C:\Documents and Settings\Brimstone\Local Settings\Temp\{DBA46229-4FCE-418B-8729-959311A952E8}\{F317E784-F31C-4F26-A610-2D7BD89FEC5F}\patch.exe"
Add "C:\Games\Battlefield 2" or whatever the path is that you installed Battlefield 2 to, to the end so it ends up looking like this.
"C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Local Settings\Temp\{DBA46229-4FCE-418B-8729-959311A952E8}\{F317E784-F31C-4F26-A610-2D7BD89FEC5F}\patch.exe" "C:\Games\Battlefield 2"
Click Ok
You should see a black window come up showing that the patching is in progress, wait till that completely finishes and closes. Then Click 'Cancel' on the Battlefield 2 patcher Window.
Start Battlefield 2, the version number should now be showing "2484".
