Both servers were locking me out yet.... When I set up the race I could race and chat !

Though when I went onto Alinghi Server and Big AL Servers I was Locked out completely was it the NEW Course ??

And Does Retro get Points for this OOPS ! ???

I tried and tried but could not get going ?

Thats unfortunate, we shall give you some points :>

I had to wait quite some time for the game to join with that new map, about a minute maybe?

I expected something was buggered when you tried to join big al's game and you didn't say anything ;p

I think you probably just had to wait longer ? - did you press the abort button or did you get a different message?
:>

Sorry about the delay on my server last night. I have a dynamic IP address which means my IP address changes every day so every day I want to use VSK3 as a server I have to go into the configuration screen and enter the new IP address. I forgot to do it last night hence no one could join me. Bull9000 and myself talk to each other over Team Speak and we had a few problems with that initially so he was unable to till me that no one could join. When he did tell me I fixed the problem and all the rest is history.

Sailing tips. I noticed last night some of you guys angles for sailing upwind and downwind are way out Rabbit007 who finished the last race about 6 mins behind the first person. Here are some approx angles to use. They vary with wind strenght. This is how I sail.

Upwind Sail trim manual and trimed right in heel angle round about 17 degrees. Thats in winds over 14kts useing Staysail No 1. In light winds under a Genoa No 2 heel angle down to about 12 to 13. Downwind TWA 142 to 145 heel angle between 17 and 20. This is for ACC class. Melges and Off Shore angles are a bit differant.

Placings from last night.

Some good tips there Trevor, it can only help the league to share the knowledge and help others. I'm sure we all want close tight racing but currently there is a huge gap between the top guys and those at the bottom.

Trevor you and Bull are welcome to join us on ventrillo, the more guys we can have on vent the better as it makes it alot easier to pass on helpful tips..... also useful for poking fun when people go the wrong way round the course :D

Teamspeak is our main programe but we also use Ventrilo sometimes. The Ventrilo server we use isn't used much so we could all use that on Thursday nights.

You well need the latest version of Ventrilo which is 2.3.0 the server name is VVSC Ventrilo Server. What looks like a W is 2 Vs side by side. Click on arrow at right enter these Hostname voice09.hurricanehost.com
Port number 3806, Password beer and default channel VSK Sailors.

My setup. I use a MS Force feedback steering wheel for steering. For triming I have a couple of buttons on steering wheel alocated for that. Use keyboard to change sails. 1 Staysail 2 Genoa 3 Code 0 4 Spinnaker number keys under F Keys.
