Post by Trevor Cook » Wed Feb 08, 2006 3:09 pm

Hi Guys
Andy and myself are going to run the 2006 League useing VSK4. Depending on the number of people who are interested, well determine on whether we well hold it or not or whether we incorporate it in to VYS.

If the NZ League falls through as it seems at the moment it well do, you can become a member of the Virtual Yacht Squadron, and sail in club races with us. To do this we would have to get to know what kind of sailor you are like etc by you sailing in non club races with us. They are useually under the title of VYS and Friends. Once you have done a few races with us you can applie for membership here. http://www.vys.co.nz/index.html and you well be notified in a few days if your nomination has been accepted.

Laurent,
The Sunday public races are held when there are no official VYS events on. The racing calendar at VYS is pretty much full on with several events each week and well supported by the membership.

If you see an event underway in the VSK4 foyer with the VYS banner and it is NOT a locked race then we encourage you to join in - it is not limited to Sunday's - there is almost a VYS member hosting a game every night of the week.

In terms of membership for VYS, it is normally an invitation only type club as we do not really want to fill up with a club full of inactive members. That being said join our races and make it known your interested in joining - the members are always keen to welcome prospective players but we do want to make sure your in for the fun and fair play that the club has become well known for.

You can check out our race program at http://www.vys.co.nz/race_program.htm

Cheers
Andy
