FSX - What it's like? (56k NO)

Post by Mattly » Tue Oct 24, 2006 11:16 pm

So with it being released in two days Typhoon and myself were keen to check out if it's worth the hype. :slap:

It's beautiful that's for sure. The water has been greatly improved.

But what ruined FS2004 for me is a crappy netcode. You remember watching your mates coming into land and the propellers ain't turning? Then the plane lands into the ground? Well maybe those days are over.

I just loved the look of the terrian in the distance. the coloured bands in the sky are showing me the thermals. You can turn this off if you like.

I am still playing with my settings. I have heard that agent didn't notice any really performance difference with AA on so I will try that for my next flight. I am excited by the thought of a group of us going flying together now that the netcode is sorted. C U in the skys soon. _b

The question is.. do plane models actually break when they crash? It's kinda boring when you hit the ground and the plane just plants itself there in one piece.

Show me an IL-2 style visible damage model!
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

that water looks really cool. You flying at dawn in the DC3?
The reflection of the ship in the water looks amazing, even the ripples in the water off settings the reflections.
