Silent Hunter 4

Post by Happy » Thu Feb 15, 2007 10:04 am

If you haven't pre-ordered silent hunter 4 yet, it's going to be rather good.
You can pre-order from http://www.vrconcepts.co.nz
Note only the collectors edition is going to be available since it has a physical recognition manual so you can identify the ships you see - very usefull.

From the Gold press release.
Ubisoft wrote:London, United Kingdom – March 6 2007 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, announced Silent Hunter® 4: Wolves of the Pacific has gone gold. Silent Hunter® 4 is the latest installment in the critically acclaimed submarine simulation franchise, developed by Ubisoft’s studio in Romania,

The game will be released on PC DVD-ROM, for Windows on March 22nd 2007 and will be available in 3 different versions:
So it looks like it will be atleast the 20th.

I think I'm going to skip SH4 for now and go with Stalker :D

I really hope that lives up to atleast some of the expectations...

Hippy and I have been playing SH4, and Typhoon also jumped in for a game.
Very cool, nice graphics.

If you're playing using the manual firing solution method (setting the range, angle on bow and boat speed) then you'll need this table here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=108454 to work out the target boat speed as the boat speed calculator in the game is busted (it's a bug)
it's a much more interesting way to play than use the automatic torpedo solution point and click method :)

Also, be sure to patch to 1.1 or you probably won't be able to properly connect to any multi games.
Boom Boom !
