BF2 Demo SIM Server ?

Post by Major Havoc » Sun Jun 12, 2005 12:12 am

Just a thought.. Looks like there are a few of us playing :)

Any Chance.. Also.. If it does happen do the following Mod..

Open up the file gpm_cq.py with notepad, it's under Battlefield 2 Standalone Demo Server\mods\bf2\python\game\gamemodes

Locate the line

host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached', onTimeLimitReached, 1)

Place a # in front of it so it appears like

#host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached', onTimeLimitReached, 1)

This will make the 12 min timer still appear but once it hits 0:00 the clock will disappear and you will be able to play until the tickets expire.

Means we get the full conquest.. rather than just 12 mins of gameplay..

w00t

Don't even be looking at the GTR server you dirty little BF'ers :p
Cop: Are you OK?
Randolph: I don't know. I'm kinda ****ed up in general, so it's hard to gauge.

Looks like there WAS a linux server, but it was pulled, as it wasnt updated.. gave messages like "Incorrect version" when joining. Apparently the linux server wasnt updated when the demo came out.

Should be re-released sometime this week they say.

Will likely have a server running by next weekend if that is the case.

Rockin. Been partaking in a little killin' time at lunch time here in the office. Great fun cept I can't fly for shit. If you ever see Sgt. Skuzzlebutt at the controls of a chopper it's probably best you wait for the next one to come along before clambering in...you'll live longer.

Have you unlocked the timelimit on it Riv? or does that get you in trouble with someone? If the time limits unlocked you will find the server will be very popular very quickly. I hope you are running 64 peeps, but wont complain.

Big Thanks to Inspire for the effort they put in for us gamers. _b

EDIT: No don't hax the timelimit. ISP's are getting blacklisted by DICE if you unlock the weapons or time limit. We will have to survive as is till we get the game on 23rd. sigh

Heh...yes. But if you launch off the carrier normally the bleedin thing goes so fast you cross the entire map in about 2 seconds flat. I quickly learned the 'eject' + 'chute' key combo and used the jet as a guided missile instead of trying to actually fly it :D

If you want a reality/sim style game play for BF2, then definitely check out Project Reality.
