Good spotting Boony

The MP is looking better and better with each little tidbit of info coming out. FarCry2 will be a great game for some KSR vs SCU match-ups if not mixed teams playing. Many of SCu members are getting this game when released, and it won't be long until SCu wants to beat up KSR ;)

I just pre ordered my copy over at VRC... $89 bucks is a great deal.....have a look at recommended pc specs before considering the purchase. You'll be surprised to see you don't need a super fast rig to play this game at a decent frame rate.

The game was released in the US the other day and the reviews are coming in. This game is looking like a must have. I am hoping ksr chaps will buy this game as it looks like more fun with the same fast paced action as CoD4

FYI - there is a benchmark utility in the bin folder from which you can test different resolution / AA / detail combination's.

Good game _b

I'm loving the single player :)

Although I am getting sick of all the travel and continuously clearing the same checkpoints...

Seriously loving the jeeps with mounted grenade launchers :D There's nothing like leaving an enemy outpost levelled, and in flames :D

Yeah, you can, but there are only 5 per map, so you still need to travel a lot between the bus stops and your target.

Here for a start, apparently it does scale quite well (although that depends on your own definition of running the game well :p)

Running a core2duo, 2GB, 8800GTS here - runs well enough for me ;p

Minimum requirements:
CPU: Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, Pentium D 2.66 Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or better
RAM: 1 GB
Video card: NVidia 6800 or ATI X1650 or better, Shader Model 3 required, 256 Mb of graphic memory
Media reader: DVD-ROM
Hard drive space: ~12 Gig or HD space. (tbd)

Recommended:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Family, AMD 64 X2 5200+, AMD Phenom or better
RAM: 2 GB
Video card: NVidia 8600 GTS or better, ATI X1900 or better, 512 Mb of graphic memory
Sound: 5.1 sound card recommended
Supported Video cards:
NVidia 6800, NVidia 7000 series, 8000 series, 9000 series, 200 series. 8800M and 8700M supported for laptops. ATI X1650 – 1950 series, HD2000 series, HD3000 series, HD4000 series

I'm really enjoying this game. The map is HUGE not Armed Assault huge but HUGE for type of engine.

There are a lot of weapon unlocks and a lot of ability 'perks' to be released. I've unlocked and purchased a M1903 Springfield which is agreat little toy. She's a bit rusty and jams about every 9 shot but she's a beut when it comes to accuracy. I shot a guard in the leg at long range and about 40 seconds later another guard came up to the first guard to try and help him and i got him, then finished off thefirst guard :D

The graphics are stunning and the game feels like CoD4. Can be kinda histerical when your gun jams or breaks on you as you run like a mad man trying to clear the jam or find another weapon.

Haven't tried MP yet but hopefully will over the weekend.

We had a go on Friday night (Over at SCU) and it was a good bit of fun. Most enjoyable was watching Hotdog (I think) standing next to a big fuel container, me shooting it and him going sky high!

I'm lovin the single player game to bits as well
I have found a "golden gun" quite by mistake after I chased and ran over a Zebra!
I have also found an VW type off roader that goes pretty quick but dosen't last very long when being shot at.
Oh...and found a whole lot of goats in the jungle.
I shot one by mistake.
Sorry Mattly...

lol, hence his post he doesn't want to play the game anymore ;p Sorry i missed as it looked like fun, but i didn't get much time behind the pc over the weekend.

Some guys are b*tching about the the checkpoints respawning and how you are unable to bribe them. If the checkpoints didn't respawn the map would dry up real fast and people would moan its boring. Bribing them isn't realistic either because you need the dimonds to buy guns, equiptment, and perks so shooting them or running the check point are your only options.

I found that little dune buggy as well. I think it goes slower than the Jeep Wrangler :p... The river boats are fun and the scenery is just magic.

I'm %18 percent into now and i've already noticed the AI is getting tougher and more of thm. Also, the missions are changing to be a little more interesting. Have you tried the Sprint - Crouch slide - slash with machete routine yet? Its very cool especially if you wound them. Then you do a final attack that has a nice sequence built in :skull:

I luv my rescue buddies! I now have a silenced MP5. Not very good at range but i can now double tap headshots without alerting the rest of guards. Its very cool though to wound them in the legs and they call for help and when help arrives you plug them both :D
