Far Cry 2.....

Post by Jetboy » Tue Jan 31, 2006 6:44 pm

Well nothing really official as yet but engine demo video out and damn

DX10 and shader 4.0

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1190

22mb but looks like its going to do the same for graphics that Far Cry did when it first came out.....ie bring everyone to tears who's just dropped 2k on that new Sli setup only to find FarCry rips it to shreds hehehehe

that said am currently reloading FarCry for a run through....looking foward to cranking the graphics, think I was playing it on a 9800pro last time I had it loaded

Doesn't that mean Vista is needed to get the most out of it. I was under the impression that DX10 would not be available for XP.

I know you can only wait so long to upgrade your hardware but I knew I didn't drop the money to upgrade to A64/PCI-E/SLI for a reason...
My poor old AXP and 6600GT are just going to have to struggle along until this whole next gen arrives I think.. poor, poor abused and overclocked system :larf:

My understanding was that DX10 is being held back for Windows Vista, but since 60% of it's code has to be rewritten, we may get a taste in WinXP
