Hyundai Imagequest Rewrites Gamers' Wish Lists With Launch Of World's Fastest TFT Monitor

17 November 2004

Gamers in search of the ultimate visual experience today received a huge boost from Hyundai ImageQuest, the global manufacturer of LCD, plasma and CRT displays, with the launch of a new 19-inch TFT display.

With an 8ms response time, the new L90D+ is speeding ahead of the market to take its place as one of the world's fastest responding TFT display that provides completely ghost-free images. This industry leading performance combined with an attractive price and exceptionally sharp picture, due to 800:1 contrast ratio, has the potential to establish the display as the number one choice for the growing number of high-end gamers.

Furthermore, to enhance the overall visual experience, the display's DVI-D digital connection delivers improved imaging and scanning.

"The availability of fast moving games is changing the gaming landscape dramatically," explained Jan Karlsson, Regional Manager, UK, Scandinavia and Baltic, Hyundai ImageQuest. "With an incredibly fast response time and high quality imaging, our new monitor will leave even the most demanding early adopters speechless."

The display's telescopic foot allows for adjusting viewing positions, relieving games addicts from potential neck and shoulder pain. The same size screen as in 21-inch Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) display also helps gamers who spend long hours in front of a screen.

Price and availability:
The price of Hyundai ImageQuest's new 8 ms display starts from £391 incl. VAT, and is available in December from good electronic retailers.

Mine still hasn't arrived yet! I wonder what the hold up is? Still don't know how much it's going to cost either.

Has your one arrived yet Snake?

8ms Panels are on there way. Shipment left on Monday, so will land in NZ in 4 weeks.

Supplier has been a little slow with pricing, but I've been selling bucket loads of Philips 19" 12ms, and so far I've gone through a pallet of 17's this year. Every one is after TFT's at present!!!

I'll post a price once I find out.

Bums, just ordered a cheap 19" CRT, ah well will save up and wait and see if there is good as cracked up to be, still have my reservations about refresh rates and resolutions and such, need to do more research.

Mikool is running a 12ms 19" and he spends more time with it than his misses :)

Sounds cool, at the end of the day it came down to more grunt under the hood or flash screen, I settled on the former. I plan to get one just not for awhile, problem is I suspect the wife will want it. :D

UPDATE:

Unfortunity these Hyundai's are so good, America is upsorbing near 100% of the units made.

NZ's shipment was meant to arrive over a month ago, and yet they can't even get 1 because US demand is so high.

I guess Toms Hardware was spot on, picking it was the best from the 8ms 19" Panel range.

Sorta saves the dilemma then huh, still not sure about this native resolution bizo, does it mean you locked into one res and if you wanna play something at a non-compliant res your outta luck. Tried doing research on this but the stuff I found all too ruddy technical and I gave up in disgust.

It will work in any resolution upto the Native 1280x1024.
Just some resolutions that don't match, text and some GFX my look a little odd. Other than that, look at the Pic's from the Easter Lan, with a TFT besides a CRT, major difference. In another year, it will be hard to purchase a CRT.
