FS Host Client Beta2

Post by Typhoon » Sat Oct 28, 2006 11:33 pm

After connecting to the Inspire Server tonight using FS Host Client for FSX, I found it a rather reliable took for a beta. More testing will be required, but all going well FSX players can now join FS2004 and FS2002 for on-line Flying.

Great work Typhoon =]

Keen for a fly later today? I'd like to dig up the weather data for tuesday last week and try some landings at Wellington. Might be a bit of humour!

Certainly is nasty! 38 knot wind almost straight down the runway - came in for a landing in a Beach 18 and it seemed like a vertical touchdown.

I'll be in later tonight, baby sitting today, while my misses studies.
It was good that ATC works via the Client, as over a Lan or Gamespy connection it doesn't.
That will make like a lot easier tuning, getting directions, and taxiing.

Heres a rather boring flyby I did on Viking while in session over wellington - it was fun at the time! I did'nt want to get too close as the collision reporting in FS can be a little 'off'.

I was in a Jet Provost (think RNZAF Strikemaster) and Viking as practising his executive flying skills an a Learjet. 5 meggages.

mutliviews in FS9

with FSX can you lock each window so it doesn't get changed by accident?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Wow Viking prettty cool, but I couldnt play like that, I use Track IR as I need the whole cockpit experience for a flightsim to grab me. I have now though found a second moniter helps me out so I can drag the radio stack and GPS over too it and use it from there as TIR makes clicking on things in the virtual cockpit quite tiresome, FSX though is better in this department than FS9 was.

Tryed FSHost on Sunday with Viking and HotDog. Basically for FSX owners it means going back to the same crappy netcode that spoiled online play for me and was the reason I purchased FSX. For multiplayer to be imersive it has to look real. Players planes have no wheels when taxiing and their propellers aren't moving. The same contact issues come into effect so everyone has to fly with collisions off. Just doesn't interest me, so come on all you 2004 owners cough up the moolaa's and get a copy of FSX from VR Concepts. _b
