Command & Conquer 3 (screens 3meg)
c&c 3 will be out soon, the demo is out already and I've been having a go at it, very nice, anyone who played the first C&C will like C&C3 as it follows the same kind of units.

I think perhaps that webserver doesn't like external linking to files in itInspector wrote:So why does it work for everyone else Bazz? Must be something to do with the GHQ website. Shall I get Happy to have a look at it for you? I don't think his hourly rate is too bad.......

I've played both and I think C&C3 looks heaps better.
C&C 3 looks more fast paced and more be careful with the units you have type thing. C&C 3 impressed me more than supreme commander.
Supreme commander is good as far as the number of units and the vastness of it goes such as tech tree and maps but she don't look as good as c&c3

Cnc3 is very very old school gameplay-wise including running over soldiers with tanks and the inevitable tank rush. But if that's what you grew up on - playing Westwood RTS games - then it's automatically going to catch your attention more than SC. SC is poorly documented and makes you work hard to get it and appeals more to the TA fans of old (which it does big time).
Which is better? I dunno - the gameplay in the CnC3 demo left me cold. The view is way way way too zoomed in and it's like nothing's changed since Dune. Whether the full game is better remains to be seen.
In the meantime we should be glad we have great games like SC!

I agree Agent, c&c3 isn't a whole lot different from the original, there are a few more things and the graphics look better, but the gameplay is similar. I found the zoomed-out view in c&c3 more than enough to do what you need to do (though I did run it in wide screen which helped)
Supreme commander suffers from the same fate though as that is about as close to TA as c&c3 is to C&C but it does have decent zoom. It's a matter of preference really then over what kind of game you prefer

Preference smeference, SC is king! (jokes!)
I did play the C&C3 demo and as with Agent I very quickly grew frustrated with the level of zoom (or more specifically the lack there of) and how large the units & buildings were for the screen space available (so much scrolling!). It lasted about 20 mins on my system before being removed in disgust, which I do view as a shame.
Regarding the prettiness factor, as with most RTS's of late, it comes from having such a zoomed in view and a lot less units on the screen to draw.
I played C&C heavily when it first came out and loved it. But I think I've come to demand more of RTS's now that SupCom has spoiled me and going back to basically playing like the original C&C just doesn't appeal any more.
That and I can't take the acting seriously after having watched House and BSG.
But all that said, play the demo, form your own opinion and if you enjoy it, then all power to you, go for your life.
