The new stockcar 147a
Hi All,
I decided to seperate the build progress on my stockcar from the other thread, so here is all the information, have deleted the info in the other thread.
Well after one helluva long day(what an ordeal!), the newest addition is finally home.
Enjoy!
Will try to do regular updates as I progress with its' transition from a superstock carcass to a running stockcar

Re: The new stockcar 147a
A few more progress pics, got motivated about lunchtime and got the motor out ( had it dummy mounted ), put in about 4 metres of bracing , and put the motor back in by 4pm. My back is disagreeing with me for doing it
Anywho, enough jibber jabber, heres the pics:
Once I have finished the top half (Mount steering box, seat, diff) and have plumbed up the motor, its going to be tipped on its lid to be fully welded underneath, then not far away from the sandblasters!

Re: The new stockcar 147a
clive if your front bumper is strong enuff dont worry about the pussy bumper up front
let them feel it..... as for the rear i would definetly have it just for the cars hitting you from behind as it softens the blow and impact on your back. thats the way we tend to run now...

Re: The new stockcar 147a
well a bit of progress! in between my back issues of late ( have to go see a bloody specialist later this month ) and a heap of help from dad and a couple of my mates the car is now the right way up again, the engine, bellhousing and gearbox is back in, fully mounted, and the front end is back in. it is now sitting on its own suspension at the front!
new wheels and tyres, flash aye (not for long once it hits the track )

Re: The new stockcar 147a
Had to cut off 70 mm from each side, the guy made it too long and just slapped it on
Will cut the front edge off and put a section of 10mm tube on them when I get to it

Re: The new stockcar 147a
A bit of an update!
Got the diff narrowed by the Steel Surgeon, and got it all fitted last week - thanks to my mate Jason for all of his help with that!
And tonight after work I got stuck into the exhaust system, with the help of Jason and dad. Used a bit old old pipe, and new, plus a bling muffler a mate gave me
Will probably be bloody loud, if so theres room to put a resonator in, or just fire some chicken wire in the muffler
next on the list is to make the mounts for the exhaust, finish the welding job on the diff mounts, then onto the interior of the chassis
