So, it seems that this "global recession" has not impacted negatively on everyone.
Check this out!
It's a Mercedes Benz owned by an Abu Dhabi oil billionaire (naturally).
Featuring the newly developed V10 quad turbo with 1,600 horsepower and 2800nm of torque
0-100km/h in less than 2secs, 1/4 mile in 6.89secs running on biofuel.

I think the term "street tyres" should be loosely used in this case lol.Obsc3ne wrote:I would very much like to see that proved tbh, 6.89 on street tyres with 1600 hp
I've seen some "street tyres" that were more a soft compound slick than anything else. Street-legal track day tyres for example.

Re: Recession? What Recession?
I understand that point of it, but the 2nd highest class of NZ drag racing is called top doorslammer , they run 6.30's-6.70's with about 2000-2500 hp, on a chassis, suspension, drive train, tyre etc. set-up that is only designed to run the 1/4 mile runsslobb11 wrote:I think the term "street tyres" should be loosely used in this case lol.Obsc3ne wrote:I would very much like to see that proved tbh, 6.89 on street tyres with 1600 hp

6.89 would be the fastest street legal car (on the 1/4 mile) in the world by just under a second, so I'm calling bs on that figure

Re: Recession? What Recession?
The 0-100 in less than 2 seconds sounds a little optimistic too actually.
That car does NOT look light...so that's a whole crap-load of energy needing to be transferred into the tarmac in an awfully short amount of time. Even a 4-wheel drive would struggle....a 1600hp RWD???? lol.
I can see it doing 0-100 cubic metres of tyre-smoke in under 2 seconds....

I dont think any of the 'stats' are true, just to make the car more impressive
