I've seen the Tall Blacks do it. Would be quiet entertaining if the silverferns ripped out a haka

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
Damn good result and yes I watch the game as well, still tired and it's going to be another long night with State of Origin 2.
There was talk only a few days ago regarding the All Whites and the Haka......FIFA ruled against performing the Haka.
And actually there are a few other codes who perform the Haka either prior or after there game.
But back to the game, Winston Reid (Tainui) seems to be the man of moment and what a great result with a draw, that certainly upset the Slovakian team.....oh well bring on the world champs. Italy......and lets hope we keep let than 4 and do better then the Socceroos......who'll be guttered as, good job

Awesome result for the lads, and for those who say that they only play for money just look at Reids face after the celebration when he steps back over the hoarding and puts his shirt on, there are tears in his eyes. That's how much it means to these guys to wear that jersey!

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
New Zealand did it! Their first ever point at the FIFA World Cup. Good to see they had so much support, especially from those that don't follow soccer often. Now they've gone back to work, in the hopes of pulling off a similar or better result against Italy.
Group F:
New Zealand 1 -1 Slovakia
Group G:
Ivory Coast 0 - 0 Portugal
Brazil 2 - 1 North Korea
Group H:
Honduras 0 - 1 Chile
Spain 0 - 1 Switzerland
Group A:
South Africa 0 - 3 Uruguay
Results from the last 2 days added above. Switzerland have produced upset of the tournament by beating Spain 1-0 this morning while Uruguay's win this morning over South Africa may have knocked the hosts out.
Some good match ups tonight/tomorrow morning: Argentina play South Korea while France play Mexico.

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
10 goals were scored in the three games overnight as Argentina have all but guaranteed a spot in the final 16. France's loss to Mexico just about puts them out.
Group A:
France 0 - 2 Mexico
Group B:
Argentina 4 - 1 South Korea
Greece 2 - 1 Nigeria
England play tomorrow morning against Algeria. Wonder if we'll see any Robert Green 2.0 moments or something of equal significance to further dent England's campaign or we could see them pull off a performance their supporters expect.

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
This World Cup is turning into the world cup of upsets! Germany lost to Serbia and had their star striker Klose sent off in the first half and USA went 2-0 down to Slovenia before coming back to draw it in the second half.
Group C:
Slovenia 2 - 2 USA
England 0 - 0 Algeria
Group D:
Germany 0 - 1 Serbia
This is setting up the biggest giant killing of the tournament on Monday morning: New Zealand beating Italy!

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
Results from overnight:
Group D:
Ghana 1 - 1 Australia
Group E:
Netherlands 1 - 0 Japan
Cameroon 1 - 2 Denmark
Cameroon are the first team to be knocked out the competition while Netherlands became the first team to qualify for the knockout round.
Ricki Herbert has gone with the same 11 that started against Slovakia to take on Italy tomorrow morning:
TAB Odds:
Italy $1.16
Draw $6.50
All Whites $15.00
Coverage is on both TV1 and SS2 tomorrow morning. Tune in from 1.30am to either station with the kick-off at 2.00am (teams come out and national anthems at 10 to).
From what I've heard, Italy will be changing to a 4-4-2 formation (instead of their 4-2-3-1 that failed miserably against Paraguay) which should play into our formation quite well (with having a spare defender at the back) where they have a right winger but not so much a left winger (which will allow Bertos to come forward some more). Plus the Cannavaro vs Fallon aerial battle will have one winner as well as the Cannavaro vs Smeltz pace battle so that's how we have to exploit the Italians.
I have no idea how this game will go - I go from thinking we'll be outplayed and lose 2-0 to thinking we can snatch a 2-1 win.

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
Best. NZ football result. Ever.
Who cares that the goal we scored was offside. They had to resort to swimming lessons and playacting to get a single goal. We held on against the reigning world champions that are currently ranked #5 in the world.
And De Rossi deserves to be bricked in the face.
Other results from yesterday:
Group F:
Slovakia 0 - 2 Paraguay
Group G:
Brazil 3 - 1 Ivory Coast
Brazil have become the second team to be guaranteed a spot in the final 16, joining Netherlands.

The All whites goal wasn't offside as it came off an Italian player ...

Was an awesome game! Defending the World Champs for most of the game and only letting one (debatable) goal through, AWESOME!! Bring on Paraguay!

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
When Reid flicked the ball on, Smeltz was in a offside position. You could say that Cannavaro's touch (poor as it was) was forced due to Smeltz lurking where he was.Bull wrote:The All whites goal wasn't offside as it came off an Italian player ...

He was in an offside position for sure, but it wasn't offside as like I said it came off an Italian player
If it was an offside goal it woulda been disallowed

Re: No All Whites Thread Yet?
The ball was headed towards Smeltz, in the offside position so at that point he is active within the play and the whistle should've been blown for the free kick. Yet both the referee and linesman didn't see Reid's flick on and Cannavaro Fed up big time, allowing Smeltz to score.
Anyway, lets put the hate back onto De Rossi who's known for his trying to go for a swim on the soccer pitch:
