Re: Meaner concert than Metallica
All the best metal songs have been written in Standard E ... its only all the new metal bands that drop the tuning because they can't play heavy at standard tuning! haha

I took a big sloppy poo the other day and james hetfield came running up to me asking if he could use it in their next album as it was better than anything they produced since and justice for all.

Re: Meaner concert than Metallica
I do actually, when I cover songs from bands like Pantera etc.
But otherwise na, I leave in standard E. You don't have to play low to play heavy.

Too scared?
I play standard E because it suits the style of music I play. Which is thrash. Detuning is only good for playing low "heavy" music, although I disagree that it is really that much heavier.

You just said heavier music , then disagree with yourself lol
Heaviness pretty much depends on your drummer, you can play any tuning you want but if your drummer plays like metallica does now then you will never be heavy.
Just a hard rock groove.

Heavy in commas, which I then went on to explain
Ill agree though Preds, even though this has been a great time wasting and post count gaining exercise, Lars does suck balls on drums these days. In fact, hes never been that great.
