Telstra Clear

Post by pacman » Sun Jul 11, 2010 6:39 am

Does anyone else use them as an internet provider?

I recently got sold the "new and better boradband", was sposed to be faster or the same with a bigger data plan.

Well ive got the bigger data plan but ive been having ping problems for the first time since i started online racing.

Just wanting to know if anyone else is having issues, we are in a new house but even our old PDQ was faster in the new house, ive sent them an e-mail but thought id ask you guys aswell.

I have Telstra Clear and find it really good, fast and relable...

where are you? are you on there cable network or an adsl network? I am on the cable network

Awhile ago my pings went through the roof and after talking to Riven about it and it was the way telstra went to inspire... it had to go through xtra to get there and not direct which drove the ping right up

Howd you get a 25 gig plan with telstra? Im on telstraclear aswell and the best they can do me is 10gigs for 11.95 per 10gigs! normaly i use about 30-35gigs a month. Watch telstraclear tho ive had bad net/connection probs latly (mostly droping) and even with a line check over 48hours telstraclear told me they accept 6 drops of connection perday if modem boots up within 5 minutes (not impressed at all and im a loyal customer aswell with 5+ years now)

Thats my speedtest result.
So that looks ok but where my modem was maxing out at 800 before now its maxing at 600.
Just rung telstra and they say its the server im trying to connect to, that or the modem.

Guess i gotta convince the mrs we need to try a new modem...DAMNIT

I cant remember exactly but there IS a 'USE BY' date for modems (1 year or 2 years i think it was thru telstraclear). I had to buy another RTA1320 modem (it was added to my bill) after old 1 heated up tomany times (so yea had to order and pay for another one )

I got a RTA 1335 which has been working fine for me.

Telstra should replace it within I think 3 years? Im not too sure. But they will just add it to your bill and it shouldnt be more then $100

I use 40GB a month myself. And that's being selective too.
