WOW What a shake alright, I've just got power back on only 5 mins ago and my god what a mess my house was!

When i get time i'll upload the ones from my house about 10 mins after the quake to give you's an idea of what it did to houses..

Unbelievable is the only way to describe it, Christchurch is officially a mess!

Condolences do go out to the family's that have lost loved ones in the CTV and PGC buildings that collapsed without any such warning :(

Crazy just plain crazy.
Only just got power back on, had to do the long drop thing in the back yard. House is ok, contents hammered(Sim is ok though _b )
As Bull has said the city is pretty much poked, and my heart goes out to all that have lost someone.
Problem is, we all don't know if we have lost someone we know untill all the names and photos have been released.

Cant really grieve yet either, it's still going on, super stressed with big aftershocks, and according to the moon man (Who I dislike alot!) another big quake is coming.
So I'm heading down south to Invercargill on the 16th and coming back 24th.
The date for another big shock is supposed to be the 19th or 20th, and the chatter has already started for people leaving.
Again, crazy shit!
18th is a day off for Christchurch, and would be a good time to leave town for a long weekend.
Plan for the worst, hope for the best and deal with whatever happens.

If nothing happens, then sweet. (And the moon man gets billed for the lost productivity in Christchurch of scared and paniced people.)

Stay safe, everyone in NZ. Just be weary of where you are on those days, and a bit of advice from someone with earthquake experience,
if you hear a big approaching super loud rumble that you think cant possibly get any louder, RUN! Get outside, get out in the open. You have about 5-10 seconds before the violent shaking starts depending on how close you are to the epicenter. This is precious time to get to safety.

Ken Ring is full of shit! Wouldn't believe a word that guy says! Glad to hear you are ok Heppy but no one can predict when and where an earthquake will hit, especially not because of the moon and the tide.

And Corrin if there's a quake big enough to affect Christchurch, Wellington and gisborne I would expect it to level probably 2 of those cities as it's force would have to be huge!

Despite the fact he has predicted each earthquake so far CHCH has had, I wouldn't completely rule him out ... I think he's a load of bollox as well, but it pays to still be prepared in case it does happen.

The biggest worry in NZ atm is if that Alpine fault goes .... if that goes, it will be more then just CHCH that gets levelled.

You are going into a volcanoe when a massive earthquake predicted? ;p
Nah she'll be right aye cant see how you can predict that the moon can trigger that sort of thing oh a precice date.
Whats the alpine fault anyway?

If it was Toni Marsh giving you these earthquake predictions and not Ken Ring, I bet you'd all be paying attention to what was being said.

First page, Half way down are pics of my place after the Feb 22nd Quake. Damage is substantially worse now thanks to the multiple aftershocks and after Monday's 5.7 and 6.3 magnitude quakes.
