Leave a post if your keen and keep watching this thread. Also if you see us on ventrilo pop in and ask what we are upto and you will probably find us BFing it. . We may need to form a clan for BF2 as it is built to encourage true team strategy.

Inspector it maybe that the Generals role is going to work for you really well. In Battlefield 2 each side has a general. The general plays in a top down view looking over the battlefield. You give the squads comands by using the mouse to designate waypoints. As you click on the map a waypoint appears for the squad you selected . I'm not sure if its a waypoint arrow or puffing smoke? This role would suit you down to the ground and if we form a clan we want to include as many of the sim crew as we can. The other option is for you to train as a copilot specialist. In choppers you man the 20mm midigun and the stinger missiles. In a 2 seater aircraft you are going to learn to drop naplam etc. We could train on a server that you host as it allows fora dedicated setup. (it may need to be a grunter?). In the mean time you can experiment with us in armour. I'm planning on having a go tonite and i'm sure Biteme will be keen.

Riv would be good if people used them as it's not much fun playing with only a few players. When we train it's great to have A.I on to make up the numbers and give you the satisfaction of getting heaps of kills. We sometimes play DC Omaha and have 1or2 men aside with 30 A.I and it's a blast (pardon the pun). You can lob a grenade and watch 6-7 guys fly throught the air. The real players make the breakthroughs and capture the flags and the rather dumb A.I then respawn there and help protect it.Riven wrote:*cough* InSPire Net 1942 & DC Servers *cough*

Unless people start using them, they will forever remain empty.. if you get 6-7 people on there and organised, then the other randoms will come.Mattly wrote:Riv would be good if people used them as it's not much fun playing with only a few players. I'm real keen on playing some coop this week. What we do is host a server with 34 A.I on it, split into two teams. You need either 2 or 4 players.
Omaha DC is the map of choice and you split into the two teams. You have limited control of the A.I basically just telling then where to respawn by calling for reenforcements. Play the map several times changing side each time and see who can make it to the top base and win the map as the allies. We set the A.I to maximum hard and put CPU usage to it's maximum for smarter guys. It's very cool and the human players need to make the breaks to help advance the allies line. I will try to take some screenies as soon as i find my first victim. hehe.

Gee, I just keep using ASE for my online games.
Mind you, I'm getting sick of Lost Village on Xtra, much prefer the cycle of normal maps.
But BF2 ? Sigh, yes, that's what I want. And SHIII. And to win Lotto so I have the time to play.
