OK, hope I'm not boring people to tears here.
BUT.
Slooh is an interactive web site that connects a 14" telescope, with ccd imaging, to the web.
Costs US$50 per year (there's a 7 day free trial) you can order the telescope to view stars and constellations and take images, all via remote control.
The telescope is located inthe Canary Islands, and it can stream live video to you, or just take snaps.
On a scale of cool things on the web, this rates a 10 on my scale.
There's also commentary:
" SLOOH Radio broadcasts live spoken audio during missions, featuring leading astronomy experts, such as David Levy, co-discoverer of Comet Shoemaker-Levy, and Bob Berman of Astronomy Magazine. "
