Actually the main thing that makes the Metallica show meaner is METALLICA! (not that I dislike Parkway Drive but they aren't even in the same league).1073p wrote:Makes sence to me bull..... the only think making metallica show meaner at than it is at the moment is the fact that they got a far better band opening for them!!! Re: Meaner concert than Metallica
True I suppose that Metallica has only sold 100 million albums which is pretty poor really and their latest album 'Death Magnetic' hit number 1 in 34 different countries and has sold over 4 million copies.
Parkway Drive on the other hand sold over 30,000 of their last album.

Lamb of God and Parkway Drive are fairly meh tbh ... just some more of the same from the metal genre.
Would much rather see a band like Testament open for Metallica then LOG or PWD.

Re: Meaner concert than Metallica
HAHA I just put the totle as that to get a reaction from all you young fullas lmao
Ive seen Metallica and it was mean as... Once upon a time in my life they were the meanest, sadly however with time grew out of it into heavier shit. And you cant tell me Black, Load, & Re-load are albums worthy of anything good to say.
Apart from Death Magnetic Metallica's last good album was Justice.
Also seen Lamb of God, who indeed will put on a brutal show. Groovy thrash metal at its best.
Parkway drive is a different ball game altogether, just wanted to make you fullas get all defensive on your Metallica band wagon lol

Re: Meaner concert than Metallica
Black album was good, and theres some good songs on Load and Reload too. But like a lot of other bands around that time and still today, those albums were just a few good songs and the rest filler. Which unfortunately is how most genres, bands, and music is heading
I wouldn't consider half of that music heavier. Just cause the guitars are tuned lower or the singer screams/chokes rather then sings doesn't make it heavier. And thats what makes music such a wonderfull thing, is that every listens and interprets it differently. Metal is such a bloated genre full of sub genres of sub genres its almost as ridiculous as hip hop, rap and pop! lol

Mean song you posted in your first post though, I don't know if it's just me or not but the guitars in that song have a real sound of my favourite Kiwi band 8 Foot?
**EDIT** Actually I'm pretty sure I told the 8 Foot singer I was their to see Cage Demise not them at the after party for Teams lol.

Have Parkway's "Killing With A Smile" album that was pretty good. Haven't given their new one a listen thought yet (but according to your facebook, it's in the FB category).

Parkway have used the same tuning as 8 foot in their last 2 albums, but have gone another half step down for the latest, so that may be how you have joined the 2.... similar tone but not as good

Re: Meaner concert than Metallica
At the end of the day Metal is Metal...
When running the radio station we served more of a purpose to metal than anyone around at the time. 4 years non stop 24/7 metal playing all metal and genres from the humble beginnings of Hendrix, Sabbath and the like all the way through all decades. So we got a fair idea of most bands round the world and genres.
No point bagging metal or the bands that play, they have the hardest road in music to get on top of
