Re: Interesting Motorsport Videos
It was a great lap indeed, something people don't realise though is that the Technology plays only a 50% role in lap times, the rest of it comes down to track condition.
If the track is ripe for a good time then a good time will come, hence why lap records from 5-10 years ago still stand. Even in karting lap times can vary day by day by up to a second depending whether there has been rain in the last week, air temp, how much rubber on the track etc etc

Still, the nearest car was over a second away. I get what you're saying though.Bull wrote:It was a great lap indeed, something people don't realise though is that the Technology plays only a 50% role in lap times, the rest of it comes down to track condition.

Absolutely, the track condition was perfect for the car setup + driver.Rasmo wrote:Still, the nearest car was over a second away. He hooked the wrong gear... It was the lap of the gods, and it always will be. Was so far ahead of the competition.
Have to agree with the goosebumps, to spite how many times I have seen that video!

They don't often run four-wide in F1, but sometimes they run two-wide through a turn ... then through the next turn ... then through the next turn ...
