well it is a beta, its not optimised, runs rather poorly in triple screens, single, ok.. did bend the suspension which was visible in cockpit, flat spots go away  ... heat haze is just plain lame.. Over Over done.

I ran through the minimum system requirements when they released that info recently.. and my system except for graphics card and RAM (more then min requirement) just meets that requirement... E5200 Core2Duo (2.4ghz).. what is your's then? I'm hoping I don't have to upgrade right now :look:
To give you an idea, I can't even run the Targa Florio track >_<

AMD 3800+
4 gig of some cheap ram
9800 GTX+ card
Win XP

Runs between 20 to 50fps depending on mod and track.

But you play BF3 no? I would have though that would be more taxing over rF2 (though physics engine is non-existent)

Rifty, your CPU runs at 2Ghz and will go to around 2.4/5 overclocked a bit.... which may or may not be worth doing. But at default it is not enough to run rF2 well at all.

Have you tried turning all the bling down to minimum and see how it goes from there?

Dammit! The game won't fire up now. If I run the exe. as admin it asks if you want to start rFactor 2. Whne I say yes is goes away and then nothing...

Different pc Riven.

I have a sim setup in the spare room for racing only, where as the fps games I play on the main daily use pc in the living room.

Think it's time to cash in some holidays I'm owed.

Anyone got any tips on what I should look at? Budget around $1000

You could easily build something suitable for a grand Rifty... just have to shop around for the parts. No warranty that way though, but it is much cheaper in most cases. Must be online PC parts stores there?

Go to your local NZ Post Shop and load some monies onto a Prezzy Card. Will be accepted just like a Visa card.

Alwaus useful to check the GP forums "Default GP $500 - $2000+ PC Build Suggestions" thread: http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/302905/

latest $1000 build:
CPU: $159.00 AMD FX4100 Black Edition Bulldozer 3.6GHz 12MB Cache Socket AM3
Mobo: $159.00 GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
RAM: $49.00 G.Skill Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3-1333 CL9
GFX: $270.00 AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5
Case: $100.00 Case
PSU: $100.00 Silverstone Strider Series ST50F-230 500W PSU
DVD: $45.00 Samsung/Asus/LG/LiteOn 22X SATA Dual Layer DVDRW
HDD: $170.00 1TB Seagate Barracuda/WDigital Blue/Samsung Spinpoint F3
= $1052.00 Total inc gst, ex shipping
Note that their $1500 build uses Intel i5 CPU. The computer geek son is waiting for the release of the next Intel range (I assume later this year) and then plans to take advantage of expected i5 / i7 price drops.

Cheers Vandem, have already had a look there. I'm an admin for GPForums, so it was my first place to look.
Will be asking for advice there once I have a 100% confirmed budget.

My only concern is I'll be buying what will be old tech very soon, and like you have said there will be a price dump.

Great vid showing the weather, dry line and rubber build-up on racing line.
Cool thing is the dry line forms where you drive, not just the generic AI line - brilliant
Has great potential, just need to get the frame rates up, which I'm sure they will.

Yeah - I liked the fact that as the track is drying you can still see puddles of water at the edge of the track. (Especially at Spa)

I downloaded it, bought a licence and am making my computer work very, very hard .......... when they say minimum spec, they mean it. I'm just under that - Intel C2 6400 @ 2.13Ghz, 2Gb ram (still on 32bit W7) and an old ATI 4850 - and struggling to get over 40fps on the track - time to check the savings and look for good bargins / 2nd hand gear etc.

Rifty - http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/compone ... rtid=15876 ($679.00)
+ a half decent PSU and then do the gfx card later if needed.
rF1 seemed to like cpu, i'd assume rF2 will be much the same (with a decent heatsink/fan I've got my 2500K clocked @ 4.7Ghz on all four cores, although it will be mint at stock)

Couple of questions. Do you guys have the Megane Trophy listed in the Mod Manager? or do they come under the All Tracks & Cars?

Another thing which could be related to the above if mine isn't showing up, is it just me not finding the settings or are there no wipers? I have everything in the graphics maxed, I think, which the PC handles ok when circulating alone :D.

I retract all previous comments about performance :p
All settings maxed and I'm under 50fp at monaco - with no other cars (i5-2500k @ 4.7, 8GB mem, 6950 2GB)
