KSR GT3 World Tour - Round 2 - Canadian Tyre Motorsport Park (Mosport)
Round 2 of our KiwiSimRacing GT3 heads up the continent to Ontario, Canada (Just outside of Toronto). Mosport is a portmanteau of Motorsport....which is the most generic nickname for a track I've ever heard of...
Anyway, this place, as shown above by the Nascar Truck series can produce some....exciting....finishes, but is a super tough challenge fro drivers, whilst it's quite wide, if you put a wheel off track it's game over.
Track: Canadian Tyre Motorsport Park - Mosport
Schedule:
[20:00] - Official Practice
[20:40] - Open Qualifying (15 minutes - unlimited laps)
[20:55] - Drivers Briefing (Over discord - no cars on this track during this time)
[20:56] - Warmup
[21:00] - Race 1 start
[21:30] - Race 2 start (Reverse Grid of race 2 finishing order)
Format:
2 x Races - Pits Open
Race 1 - 20 minute Sprint
Race 2 - 40 minute Feature (Compulsory Pit stop (CP) Required)
CP: Change all 4 Tyres. Pits open from lap 2 onwards. CP must be done before the commencement of the final lap.
Changes from last week
The format will largely remain the same for this round (still 1 x fuel and 1 x tyres), also the 20 minute\40 minute race length will remain. The damage will reduce (from 80% to 50 %).
The rationale behind keeping the same (specifically in relation to the tyres) is finding that the softs will essentially only hold their initial grip for 3 - 5 laps, so if you want to run a strategy of speeding off on softs, then conserving on mediums for longer than that is a viable option.
NOTE: Please ensure you have reserved your car in the reservations thread, there is only a limited amount of liveries available for each vehicle (This is not compulsory).
EXTRA NOTE
Any commentary of the events that took place last week we'll keep in the Round 1 thread, however to reiterate we do have a set of race rules that should be adhered to.

Enjoyed the racing on Tuesday, especially the first few laps of Race 2.
Was a shame that Rifty popped his engine in front of everyone
Cars seems to be a pretty even mix, the Aston appears to be somewhat dominant but not sure the car is OP.

Watched the replay of the start of race 2. Was epic!
Would be good to post up a video but not sure how.

Yes I had a terrible start in race 2, completely bogged it down! Great racing though, I do enjoy the longer stints more than the sprint races in these cars though.

Which graphics card do you use? Both nVidia (GeForce Experience) and AMD (Radeon ReLive) have easy to use functions to record and save a video while ingame. Then just upload that video to YouTube or Google Video as I believe they are the only two that this forum allows embedding of.

Can't. Since the last update I can't access the Geforce Experience screen. When I log in it tells me it has sent an email to confirm my details but I never receive the email. I've been waiting about three months now. It seems to be a common problem.Bull wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 7:49 pmWhich graphics card do you use? I think OBS (free) can use the nVidia encoding as well, so you'll get minimal frame loss using it.Growler wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 11:14 pmCan't. GeForce experience does also alternatively allow you to log in with either your Facebook account or your Google/Gmail account, if your normal account isn't working.

He seems remarkably mobile after blowing his engine?

^ This.
I think you've got the cars mixed up Eric. I'm driving a yellow Corvette. Hint: It's the only one in the field
That sucked didn't it
I had no idea why it blew, untill I watched the replay after being toild I was one gear lower than usual and shifted into first in error.
Sorry Riven, as there was no smoke, or another warning I was franticly trying to work it out. Actually thought I'd hit the pit limited for a split second.

Ah now that makes perfect sense, I thought you were in the big blue boat! But then I was thinking.. why is Rifty driving with an Inspire livery, that's really thoughtful of him! Derp.Riftcreator wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 11:57 am
